Nightwish - Storytime

Bueno, bueno, bueno. Tras algunos años Nightwish va a sacar material nuevo. ¿No estáis emocionados?

Veamos, Nightwish fue uno de los primeros grupos de música “metal” que escuché. Nunca fueron de mis favoritos, pero tampoco me fueron indiferentes. Supongo que siempre les he tenido en un término medio. A veces me cuesta encontrar el momento para escuchar sus canciones. No obstante siempre me han parecido muy buenos y una forma excelente de dejar volar tu imaginación. Además, con solo leer las letras piensas ‘qué frikis’. Y sí, eso también me encanta.

La mayoría sabréis que soy pro Tarja. Ahora bien, pienso que la voz de Tarja y Nightwish hacen una mezcla ideal, muy personal y difícil de igualar. Aunque Nighwish son todos, la voz de Tarja, le daba un aire de ópera que me es sublime. Se fue Tarja, bueno, la echaron, y llegó Anette (nunca recuerdo si son dos ‘n’ o dos ‘t’). Y el Dark Passión Play no me gustó demasiado. Di gracias a que viniera con un cd con las versiones instrumentales y a que Marco cantase una canción, la cual es mi favorita.

No obstante, está de camino un segundo disco con Anette y acaba de salir el single: Storytime. Así que fui muy curiosa a escucharlo:

Aunque me ha sorprendido la parte de ‘detrás de las cámaras’, pues yo me imaginaba algo del estilo historia fantástica, la parte audiovisual me ha gustado en general. Sigo diciendo que el detrás de las cámaras en un videoclip de un single no me termina de gustar personalmente y me esperaba más el ambiente fantástico o de cuento que eso, pero bueno, está muy chulo el aire retro con el video y lo que imagino será también la película. Y tengo que decir que los trajes me han encantado, mucho: Jukka de pirata está auténtico. La escenografía es totalmente acorde y con un toque Tuomas xD

Eso sí, los payasos me han dado miedito….

Por otro lado tengo que decir que, musicalmente, me ha gustado la canción. De verdad. La he escuchado varias veces y, no es Once, pero tampoco es Amaranth. Creo que, finalmente, se han unificado tanto la línea instrumental como la vocal, lo cual patinaba un poco en el anterior y es algo comprensible. Creo que se nota que la canción está hecha para que Anette la cante y eso hace que quede indudablemente mejor. Comparado con el antiguo Nightwish tal vez suene un poco menos metal, pero eso tampoco me disgusta. Tiene unos coros que me han encantado y los riffs y teclados más puramente Nightwish que creo que les caracterizan. Además, el estribillo es pegadizo, como tiene que ser XD, y me gusta mucho como ha quedado esa línea de voz que, aunque pueda parecer sencilla, no lo es.

No obstante, como buena fan de Marco, me ha decepcionado no escucharle a él en el single. Esperemos que caiga algo en el single. Y desde luego si esto sigue así, yo me sé de una que terminará yendo al concierto…
